Practitioner Resource

This page displays the Practitioner Resource in FHIR format. The Practitioner Resource represents healthcare providers in the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES).

Viewing a Specific Practitioner Resource

To view a specific Practitioner resource:

  • Enter a provider's name or NPI number in the search bar at the top of the page.
  • Select a result from the dropdown menu that appears as you type.
  • View the detailed FHIR-formatted NPPES data for that provider.

The system will display the FHIR-formatted Practitioner Resource based on your selection.

FHIR Extensions

Note that we use custom FHIR extension resources to capture variables that don't have direct mappings between NPPES and FHIR. Detailed definitions of these extensions will be provided soon.
